Manuscript Preparation and Submission Guidelines

The Nobel Journal of Economic Studies (NJES) welcomes original, rigorous, and policy-relevant research addressing contemporary economic and financial issues, with particular emphasis on developing economies, emerging markets, and the Arab region.

Authors are requested to follow the guidelines below when preparing manuscripts for submission.

1. Originality and Research Contribution

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished works that provide a clear theoretical, empirical, methodological, or policy contribution to the existing literature. Manuscripts under consideration elsewhere should not be submitted simultaneously to the journal.

2. Scope of the Journal

The journal welcomes high-quality research in economics, finance, development economics, international economics, econometrics, monetary and fiscal policy, financial development, labor economics, and other related fields.

Particular consideration is given to studies addressing important economic challenges facing developing and emerging economies.

3. Language

Manuscripts must be submitted in English and should be written in clear, precise, and academically appropriate language.

4. Manuscript Length

The main manuscript should generally not exceed 4,500 words, excluding references, tables, figures, and appendices, unless otherwise agreed with the Editorial Board.

5. Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following formatting requirements:

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Text alignment: Justified

  • Tables and figures should be clearly numbered and appropriately titled.

  • All statistical, econometric, and mathematical results should be presented accurately and consistently.

6. Abstract and Keywords

Each manuscript must include an informative and concise abstract of no more than 150 words.

Authors should provide up to six keywords that accurately reflect the main themes and contributions of the study.

7. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be professionally prepared, clearly numbered, and appropriately titled. Sources should be provided where applicable.

Authors should ensure that all tables and figures are referenced and discussed appropriately in the manuscript.

8. References and Citation Style

The journal follows the APA citation and referencing style.

Authors are expected to use recent, relevant, and internationally recognized academic sources. Where appropriate, the reference list should include a substantial proportion of peer-reviewed international literature.

9. Research Ethics and Academic Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and academic integrity of their submissions. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct are not acceptable.

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources, data, software, and research contributions used in the manuscript.

10. Author Information and CV

A brief curriculum vitae (CV) of the author(s) should accompany the manuscript submission. The CV should include relevant academic qualifications, institutional affiliations, research interests, and major publications where applicable.

11. Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are initially evaluated by the Editorial Board for scope, originality, academic quality, methodological soundness, and compliance with the journal’s submission requirements.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic editorial requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to further evaluation.

12. Editorial Decision

Following the editorial assessment and, where applicable, the journal’s review process, authors will be notified of the editorial decision.

Possible decisions may include acceptance, acceptance subject to revisions, request for major revisions, or rejection.

Where a manuscript is rejected, the Editorial Board may provide feedback identifying significant weaknesses and areas requiring improvement.

13. Submission Procedure

14. Author Responsibility

Submission of a manuscript implies that the author(s) have reviewed the manuscript carefully and accept responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the research presented.
